Special Techniques: FAUXCHÉT SLIP STITCH EDGING

Neck Wrap

To Begin: With the easyloop® tool threaded with yarn A, create a slip knot (1 inch in size) 6 inches from yarn end.

Foundation Chain: Using yarn color A, chain 30 plus 1 turning stitch. Turn work.

Rows 1-30: Slip stitch across each row, making 1 turning stitch at the end of each row before turning work. Be sure to make row 30 extra loose. At the end of row 30, end work by fastening off with 1 extra chain stitch into the last stitch.

Edging: With yarn A, slip stitch into every stitch around edges.

Finishing: Cut yarn and weave loose ends in. ♦

Styling: Fold neck wrap in half before wrapping around neck. Adorn with a shawl pin or other form of closure.

Shown here is the finished neck wrap laid flat, after the slip stitch edging has been completed. This pattern is an easy beginner project and a great way to practice your stitching. The slip stitch is reversible and looks the same on both sides and the self-striping yarn in natural tones is perfect for summer.
