Design Tip: Use a variety of colors, charms and buttons to create your own personal friendship bracelets to share with friends and family!
Friendship Bracelet
Chain: With yarn tool threaded with a double strand of yarn, create a 1 inch slip knot 6 inches from end of yarn. Chain 175 stitches, being careful to make consistent stitches.
Attaching Charms: After creating 175 chain stitches, attach charms by inserting the needle tip into the loop on the charm and creating a chain stitch to secure charms to the chain.
Creating Buttonhole Loop: Create 5 more chain stitches after the last charm has been attached. To create a loop, insert the needle tip into the stitch along the chain in the desired location to fit your button and secure with a chain stitch. Create one additional stitch into the last stitch.
End work by cutting yarn 6 inches from yarn and pull yarn end to tighten the last stitch.
Finishing Buttonhole Loop: Cut yarn and weave ends in to the chain to conceal.
Attaching Button: Working at the other end of the chain (not the one with the buttonhole) insert one of the yarn strand ends through the loop on the back of the button and thread it through, pulling the button tight to the end of the chain. Using the other yarn strand end, tie a double knot behind the button and secure tightly.
End work by cutting yarn ends and pulling yarn ends to tighten the knot.
Finishing Button Attachment: Cut yarn and weave ends in to the chain to conceal. ♦
Styling: Wrap bracelet around wrist 6 or 7 times and secure with button.
