IMG_8332aWrist Band (Purple) (Make Two)

Finished Size of Wrist Band: Laid flat: 3″ width x 11″ length; 10″ circumference.

Stitch Pattern: Fauxchét® Double Slip Stitch. For the Double Slip Stitch insert the tool into the FRONT and BACK LOOPS of each stitch.

Gauge of Fauxchét® Double Slip Stitch (Wrist Band Piece): 6 sts and 6 rows = 2 inches. Note: The Double Slip Stitch looks the same on both sides. There is no right or wrong side.

To Begin: With the easyloop® tool threaded with Yarn A (Purple) create a slip knot (1 inch in size) 6 inches from yarn end.

Foundation Chain: Chain 8 stitches plus 1 turning stitch. Turn work.

Row 1: Slip Stitch into every stitch of foundation chain across row, making 1 turning stitch at the end of row. Turn work, so yarn tool is on the left and work is on the right (or vice versa for left-handers).

Rows 2-30: Double Slip Stitch into every stitch across each row, making 1 extra turning stitch at the end of each row. Turn work at the end of each row.

At the end of row 30, end work by fastening off with 1 extra chain stitch into the last stitch. Cut yarn leaving a 6 inch tail. Unthread the easyloop® tool by pulling cut yarn end backward out of the tool needles. Pull yarn end to tighten the last stitch.

Seaming: Rethread the easyloop® tool with Yarn A (Purple). Fold the wrist band piece in half at the short end and align the stitches at the edges. Using the fauxchét® seaming technique, sew the wrist band along the short ends to join.

Note: When sewing the seam be sure to insert the tool through a total of 4 loops per stitch (the front and back loops of each stitch of both edges).

End work by fastening off with 1 extra chain stitch into the last stitch. Cut yarn leaving a 6 inch tail. Unthread the easyloop® tool by pulling cut yarn end backward out of the tool needles. Pull yarn end to tighten the last stitch.

Finishing: Weave loose yarn ends in using the easyloop® yarn tool and the “weaving ends in” technique. ♦
